Dr. Mark Stevens

Professor and Chairman of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Georgia Regents University College of Dental Medicine. He was past president of the Faculty Practice at the University. He is listed as a “Top Dentist” in Georgia. He is the past Associate Professor of Surgery and Program Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program at the University of Miami School of Medicine now the Miller School of Medicine. He was director of its Orthognathic Surgery and TMJ Center.
Dr. Stevens is boarded and a diplomat of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also served on the ABOMS (American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons) as a board examiner for seven years. He received an OMFS Foundation grant titled: “Role of BMP-2 peptide grafted poly(lactide) in cranial regeneration. Other grants include an Academy of Osseointegration grant: Development of a Rat Model Exhibiting Bisphosphonate-Induced Osteonecrosis of the Jaw”, Roche, Leibinger/Howmedica corporation and Synthes.

Dr. Stevens is recognized nationally and internationally in the field of cranio-maxillary fracture repair and is an AO/ASIF (Association for the study of internal rigid fixation) faculty member. Dr. Stevens is the author of multiple surgical publications on a wide range of Oral and maxillofacial topics and techniques. He has published articles and chapters on osseointegrated implants and grafting. Dr. Stevens has given review courses on implants for OMF surgeons in Dubai. Dr. Stevens co-authored an Atlas on,” Oral and Extra-oral Bone Harvesting” bone harvesting to include stem cell techniques with Dr. Robert Marx. His special interests are correction of dental facial deformities, trauma repair, pathology, reconstruction and facial cosmetic surgery.
