He is the Director of the Ambulatory Surgery Center at Georgia Regents University (GRU) and the Course Director of the Local Anesthesia Course at GRU. Dr. Kao is a diplomate of both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is currently Assistant Professor of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at the College of Dental Medicine at GRU, Augusta, Georgia. He has consistently received top reviews, accolades, evaluations, and awards for his teaching at the GRU College of Dental Medicine and Live Implant Training Course for the past 15 years. He is the 2015 recipient of the outstanding faculty award at GRU College of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Kao has been widely cited for his publications peer-reviewed journals, such as Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics of North America. He was also featured on television News 12 WRDW Augusta, GA for “Teeth in a Day.”Dr. Kao has been invited to lecture at Georgia Dental Association (GDA), Hinman Dental Meeting, Wisconsin Dental Association, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (AAOMS) Meeting. Furthermore, he has been lecturing internationally on Dental Implantology. He is a member of GDA, American Dental Association (ADA), AAOMS, served as the Sectional Director for Governmental Affair for Georgia Society of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery (GSOMS), and is currently the AAOMS alternate delegate for GSOMS. He has received the distinguished faculty award by International College of Dentistry and also inducted as the fellow of ICD in 2012. He is a well rounded surgeon with a comprehensive scope of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery with specific expertise and keen interest in dental implant surgery. He has lectured in numerous implant courses, state dental meetings, dental CE courses across the USA, as well as internationally.
