OVER-DENTURE TRAINING FOR BEGINNERS AND INTERMEDIATE

Was created as a direct response to clinical necessity to learn the caveats of operating patients with terminal dentition and fully edentulous needing RP-5 removable prosthesis supported by free-standing locators and mucosa tissues.

General dentists working as associates, affiliates to DSO or owners of private practices are increasingly treating more retired patients that would benefit from replacing their loose complete dentures into retentive over-dentures supported by 3-4 implants.

The essence of this live surgical and live prosthetic training is to teach beginners and intermediate the following clinical protocols:
Review head and neck anatomy.
Learn to perform full mucoperiosteal flaps for mandible and maxillary archesExtract multiple teeth. using proximators and apical forceps while preserving the buccal plates.
Diagnose terminal dentition and know when they should be treated as full mouth extraction.
Understand A-P in the mandible and in the maxilla.
Know how many implants are needed for over-dentures in the mandible and the maxilla.
Learn difference between Dr. Misch’s prosthetic classification RP-4 and RP-5 over/dentures.
Master full arch alveoloplasty; how much bone reduction is needed and how to create the plasty.
Creating parallelism between implants.
Usage of straight locators, angled bio-snaps to correct angulation.
Learn Dr. Joe Massad over-denture impressions, create excellent tissue record.
Understand how to take VDR, vertical dimension at rest.
Pick up locator snaps intraorally using UDM, universal denture material.
Deliver upper and lower over-dentures.
