Dr. Virgil Mongalo is a pioneer in the field of education in oral implantology. For over three decades he has taught at several USA Universities and developed live implant training programs in Latin America where thousands of licensed Dentists from all over the world have mastered surgical techniques through surgeries on patients supervised by accredited implant professors.
This innovative teaching methodology was introduced by Dr. Mongalo in 2005 and it has been well received by the dental community. He has conducted these type of live training at Georgia Medical College-USA, Curitiba-Brazil, Dominican Republic, Guadalajara-Mexico, Managua-Nicaragua, and Puerto Vallarta-Mexico.
Dr. Mongalo has authored several published surgical textbooks where he describes safe proven surgical protocols that are translated into simple and effective step-by-step surgical techniques. His teachings have become known as Dr. Mongalo’s surgical rules.
He is the founder and president of the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics Society in Latin America, founder and President of the International Congress Oral Implantology in Nicaragua, and Ambassador to the AAIP and the ICOI in the United States.
Dr. Mongalo received his Doctorate in Medical Dentistry from Shands Hospital at the University of Florida Dental School and followed with Advanced Surgical and Prosthodontic Training at Prosthodontics Intermedia Institute for Facial Aesthetics under the tutelage of Dr. Tom Balshi.
