LEVEL 1 for Beginners

This weeklong externship was created by Live Implant Training Institute Dr. Virgil Mongalo who is the founder, chairman and clinical director.

Since opening our institute in 2008, we have trained over 3,000 licensed dentists following Dr. Mongalo’s teaching methodology that includes strict direct supervision of all live surgeries by accredited professors including board certified oral-maxillofacial surgeons, board certified periodontists, board certified prosthodontists and Diplomate oral implantologists. Unlike other institutes, at LIT there will always be one professor covering one room.

We believe that having one on one supervision enhances the learning experience and minimizes surgical errors, which is our priority in protecting the wellbeing of our patients.

This program serves the underprivileged population in Latin America to those patients that otherwise could never afford to have implants placed or bone grafting procedures for free. During the past 16 years we have operated on 26,500 patients, placed over 100,000 implants donated by Blue Sky Bio implant systems as part of their support to our social and educational program.

Beginners are those licensed dentists from any part of the globe that have minimal surgical experience and have placed less than 50 implants on patients. This program will increase surgical skills and provide confidence to start performing basic implant surgeries in private practice.

Type of surgical procedures that each attending doctor will perform

• Learn Dr. Virgil Mongalo’s safety drilling protocols following Dr. carl Misch bone hardness classification and Dr. Eduardo Anitua’s biological novel drilling sequence.

• Learn correct anatomical bone marking techniques that will assist with angulation and spacing for implant placement on partially edentulous sites.

• Each attending doctor will place 17 to 20 blue sky bio implants on screened patients. Doctors will work in pairs so each doctor will also assist on placement of additional 17-20 blue sky bio implants.

• The implants placed will be selected according to the bone hardness: for hard cortical bone D1-D2 we will place Bio-Max implants and for soft medullary bone D3-D4 we will use Bio-Forte implants. Thus, assuring primary stability 30-40 Ncm per site.

• Learn how to remove and correct implants so that final prosthetics are acceptable.
