Basic Implant Surgeries for Beginners

Implant Dentistry is a wonderful field in our profession. It began in 1970 when Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark researched and developed the principles of osseointegration, establishing the scientific foundation that transformed modern implant therapy.

Dr. Virgil Mongalo has created an introductory surgical course designed specifically for doctors who have placed between zero and thirty implants — therefore intended for beginner clinicians seeking structured, hands-on training.

This course allows beginners to operate on fundamental implant cases, including:

• Single implant placement in the aesthetic zone
• Two single implants in the posterior zone
• Multiple implants in the aesthetic zone
• Multiple implants in the posterior zone
• Extraction of one or two teeth with immediate implant placement
• Minor bone grafting procedures
• Overdenture full arch cases

This structured progression builds surgical confidence while maintaining strict patient selection and controlled clinical complexity.
